Canadian Manual Osteopathic Association (Association Canadienne des
Ostéopathes Manuelles) will open in May 2019. We are working on the
English and French websites for this association.
Dr George Sandhu, DC, DOMP, president of the Winnipeg, Manitoba based Canadian Manual Osteopathic Association (Association Canadienne des Ostéopathes Manuelles) informed us today that CMOA (ACOM) is set to open in May 2019. CMOA (ACOM) is the only national association that is tasked to register qualified manual osteopaths in Canada. The government registered title of RMO "Registered Manual Osteopath" awarded by the Association to its members informs the Canadian public, insurers and third party payor that care is provided by a qualified, ethical, competent, and registered manual osteopath.
We are happy to announce that Canadian Manual Osteopathic Association has been officially registered as a federal not for profit (NFP) organization with the Canadian government and as such it is exempt from paying annual income tax. The idea for this association has come from many manual osteopaths across Canada. However the following three manual osteopaths, Dr George Sandhu, DC, DOMP, Kim Best, DOMP and Jeannie Dhun, DOMP have stepped up to make this dream a reality by becoming its first registered directors.
Canadian Manual Osteopathic Association is electing its first president. If you are a Canadian manual osteopath you can vote. Please choose one person out of the four and send a private message to CMOA Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/osteopathycanada ) with the name of manual osteopath you have chosen as president. The candidates in alphabetical order are: 1- Elias Abdel-Ahad, BSc (physiotherapy), DOMP 2- Dr George Sandhu, DC, DOMP 3- Jeannie Dhun, BSc (nursing), DOMP 4- Kim Best, BSc (kin), DOMP
